While creating this doll, I simply called her #10. It was the number I had given her piece for an art exhibit. #9 never came to fruition. Yet she has remained #10. The winters in Finland are longer than any I have ever experienced previously. Lack of sunlight can become difficult to endure at times. Yet there is amazing beauty in the winter landscape. The stillness can make you feel both huge and infinitesimally tiny at the same time. Mystical, mysterious things play about in quiet of the winter forests. Something monolithic. That encompasses herculean depths of patience. When it happens to move as it’s settling, you can almost hear it groan, ‘”This will change.” And the sun returns and with it the flowers and birds. Then #10 sleeps until the snow flies again.

Description

This is a completely handmade original piece of artwork created by the seller, using patterns and designs of her own creation. Materials used in the creation of this art doll include: acrylic felt, polyester stuffing, embroidery floss, perle cotton, cotton crochet thread, sewing thread, yarn, wooden and glass beads, buttons, PVA glue, buttons, air dry clay, recycled plastic, metal wire, acrylic paint, corrugated cardboard, newspaper, and wood. The small fairy dolls are not removable. They are glued to the larger blue doll. This is a piece of artwork. And is not intended in any way to be played with as if it were a toy.

There are two hangers on the back of the piece to allow the piece to be hung on a wall.

To keep colours of paint and the felt vibrant, do not place artwork in direct sun for a prolonged period of time. This artwork has been made in a pet-free and smoke-free environment.
