Kivivika moves from place to place a lot. He can find plenty of spaces in which to blend, being that he’s a stone. He can quickly scuttle from one spot to the next quicker than you can blink. Kivivika’s big, round eyes allow him to see when someone might be spying on him. When he lays down and closes his eyes, you wouldn’t know him from a regular stone. Sometimes Kivivika adds a flower or some leaves to the little area at the top of his nose, so he looks even more like an every-day stone. Kivivika moves around mostly during the early morning and in the evening before sunset. Because of this, he tends to spend a lot of time with hedgehogs. There are similarities between the two, with the biggest difference is that Kivivika doesn’t need to eat. The winter snow bring Kivivika’s travels to a temporary end. He usually finds a large stone or even a boulder in the forest after the first frost and snuggles close to them for a nice winter sleep.

This is a completely handmade doll created by the seller, using patterns and designs of her own creation. Materials used in the creation of this art doll include: acrylic felt, polyester stuffing, embroidery floss,  thread,  buttons, up-cycled carton board and PVA glue. Clothing on doll is not removable. This doll has posable arms and legs. Kivivika is an art doll. Kivivika is not intended for children under the age of five, and should be played with gently to ensure many years of enjoyment. Doll made in a pet-free and smoke-free environment.

Kivivika is a compound word. Kivi (Kee-vee) means ‘stone’ and vika (Vee-kah) means ‘bug’. I’m not sure that this is necessarily a real word in Finnish. They were the only two words that I felt adequately described this creature.
