Sister Bougainvillea is from the same order as Sister Wisteria. The creative impetus for Sister Bougainvillea is two fold; the natural world, and the mysterious realm of the fey creatures. Living in Finland has put me in much closer contact with the forests full of animal and plant life. It’s not hard to imagine what kinds of unique fey creatures might be inhabiting the lakes, hills and meadows. Sister Bougainvillea is a protector of sorts. She keeps safe those precious parts of life that sometimes are easily lost. Moving slowly and gently she gathers them up with her long arms. Holding them close, they become part of her. In this way, they are preserved until someone catches a fleeting glimpse of her during dawn or dusk.

Description

This is a completely handmade original piece of artwork created by the seller, using patterns and designs of her own creation. Materials used in the creation of this art doll include: acrylic felt, polyester stuffing, embroidery floss, perle cotton, cotton crochet thread, sewing thread, yarn, wooden and glass beads, bamboo, air dry clay, PVA glue, buttons, plastic sheeting, corrugated cardboard, and newspaper. The small dolls behind plastic windows are not removable from the larger purple doll. The plastic windows does not open. This is a piece of artwork. And is not intended in any way to be played with as if it were a toy.

There are two hangers on the back of the piece to allow the piece to be hung on a wall.

To keep colours of felt and paint vibrant, do not place artwork in direct sun for a prolonged period of time. This artwork has been made in a pet-free and smoke-free environment.
